Mounted Archery Clinic
June 13/14 Beginner and/or Upper Level Session to Mounted Archery with Natasha Hockaden
AM Sessions ONLY:
Interested in the exciting sport of Mounted Archery? Come to a 4 hour in depth intro to archery beginner clinic for an introduction to Mounted Archery with Natasha Hockaden.
The clinic will be a beginner session, but will focus on shooting on the ground and then moving onto the last two hours working with your horse on the ground for desensitization and archery basics from the saddle. Mounted part will include lane work. Learn how to effectively and safely load and shoot your bow, desensitize your horse and shoot around your horse calmly. Limited rental horses available, subject to approval. We do encourage you to use your own horse as it is designed to do something new with your horse. Horses need to be well broke horses that are trained in other disciplines. We do not work with green, spooky or dangerous horses in the beginner sessions. Though keep in mind, some horses that are very versatile may still be unsure of the sport at first, but we will work through it. Current negative coggins and health certificate required for out of state horses. Riders under the age of 18 MUST wear a helmet, those over 18 must wear a helmet or sign off on a no helmet release form.
***NEW*** THIS CLINIC REQUIRES PRIOR APPROVAL TO BE ADMITTED INTO THIS SESSION
We will be offering upper level sessions for people who have done the beginner clinics with Natasha in the past. If you do the beginner session here and want to do the upper level session that is definitely an option (full payment will still be due up front for both sessions). This course is designed to work on speed loading, loading from the hand, course work, and more! This session will teach you about the rules and regulations of competition and introduce you to some of the different types of courses and targets you will see in competition. This will still be split into two parts, ground and riding. Since horses will be more experienced, it will allow for more riding time as there will be no desensitization step. Let me know if you have any questions concerning the upper level sessions.
